Something that makes me adore even more the communication tool that is this blog is to have the perfect excuse to get closer to knowing firsthand the stories of entrepreneurs and creative people, who manage to express with their eyes the passion that words don’t reach.
They say that traveling to remote places mark a before and after in your life. And it might be true, because discovering Peru drove the creative impulse of Casilda Díaz de Bustamante, who brought with her back to Spain all the ingredients to create Stone. Warm + simplicity, its motto, is translated into a small collection -the current is only the second- of scarves for women and men, and throws.
It is a real pleasure to be able to discover projects with an aesthetic criterion as exquisite and a work ethic as strong as that Casilda turns on Stone. The soft scarves and throws are woven by the skilled hands of artisans, using 100% natural materials from around the world such as baby alpaca (Peru), fine wool (Nepal) or mohair (Spain), and natural dyes that respect the environment. As I once told you, whenever I can afford it, I approach slow fashion to get quality pieces that survive more than one season, not only considering its quality and timeless design, but also the integrity of the process of production. Somehow, sharing with you what lies behind Stone is to continue the chain.
Casilda chose for me an oversize scarf in off white. Few times I could be relieved that someone makes a choice on my behalf! I wonder how long would it have taken me to opt for one of the beautiful colors of the collection…
Not only I fell in love with the brand because of the touch or the color palette of Stone’s designs, also because of the visual story told on its website and Instagram gallery. To make it even better, the art direction for the second collection has been in charge of Berta Bernad, a woman whom I admire for her incredible creative eye. I couldn’t not point out this detail ;-)
I invite you to discover Stone first hand on the 15th-16th December (tomorrow!) to the private sale on their studio (C / Rector Ubach 57 Barcelona – from 12 a.m. to 8 p.m.).
