Shirts weren’t my first option, nor second nor third, until the shirtdress popped up as the new trend last summer. While normal shirts make me feel overdressed and not ‘me’ at all, these new sort of gowns fit perfectly between my mostly oversized garments. Not too spruced up, not too messy, your kind of boyfriend’s shirt is a comfy and chic wardrobe choice in working girl style code.

Must confess that despite my several trials I didn’t come up with a shirtdress. I’ve waited until this season (Tuesday to be precise) to finally get one before they are demodé… run, Forrest, run! Basic with a twist is my motto, so I went for a long sleeved, light blue classic shirt in an oversized pattern as versatile as:

Especially loving the style on the last picture on the left. Sooo chic and unexpected! Gonna try it as soon as the temperature calls for spring and I dare to go on bare calves (I only dare to bare ankles) because, let’s have a little talk here, what’s going on with those girls on bare legs in winter?! What are they hiding? What is the trick? I own a handful of winter dresses that don’t match in any way with black tights… so I can’t wear them. Smart shopping, I did. Meantime I’ll go for shirtdress + skinny pants.

  1. Hola Alba,
