After deciding my Christmas makeup menu, today I’m testing my New Year’s Eve outfit. As I decided to not buy anything for the last night of the year, I’m struggling with my wardrobe looking for the casual garments that, put together, do the perfect match.

I’m facing it as a creative exercise that I’ve imposed to myself, a playful way to approach fashion as I like to do. For sure I’ve removed jeans from the options and I knew from the very beginning that my newest pants would be the key piece of the outfit – they’re elegant, jazzy and comfortable, nothing better for rocking a long night. The exercise turns harder when looking for the top – I own many cashmere jumpers and knit sweaters but really few shirts, so a black turtle neck jumper comes in as the best option for completing my New Year’s Eve outfit. I know it can look too classy for a young party night, but attitude (and a bold lip) makes the difference so it doesn’t bother me at all! Just to give you a second choice, try wearing your boyfriend’s shirt for a more spontaneous outfit. Why not?

1. Turtle neck jumper by Zara / 2. Jacquard suit trousers by Mango / 3. Mini bag by Mango / 4. Pumps by Zara (old, here’s another option by Uterqüe) / 5. ‘Classic Sheffield’ watch by Daniel Wellington

Again, black is my choice for a special occasion. It never grows old! As the final touch, golden hardware will balance the outfit’s darkness. A dainty ring, a clutch and a watch to keep the eye on the countdown and I’m ready to go.

Oh! Remember you can get a Daniel Wellington watch like the one I own and save 15% (on any product from their online shop, actually) using the discount codeDW-albabenitez”, it will be available until January 15th.

Have a sparkling New Year’s Eve, working girl!
