It has passed a month now since I graduated from university. Quite early this year I knew what I wanted to wear for the event. Crazy, right? But sometimes it’s a hard job to find a formal outfit that you feel comfortable in, especially when there isn’t a specified dress code. Keep on reading to see what I wore and how it may inspire you for your graduation (or formal event).
When attending an event where almost 80% of the guests are woman, the possibilities of repeating outfit with another girl are a high risk. That’s why I wanted to wear a unique piece: a pleated black silk skirt from the first collection of Vanesa Lorenzo, the fashion firm I work for. I’ve been watching it for almost 2 years every day, hanging from a clothes rack in the showroom. I can’t put down in words how beautiful is this skirt’s fabric… The skirt is midi length and high waisted. It was the star piece of the look, so I needed something more relaxed for the top. I chose a shirt from Zara that makes a funny contrast with the skirt: not formal, not informal. I completed the look with a pair of black high heel sandals and a little black crossed purse. Oh! And Ruby Woo-ed lips.

Since the skirt was never sold online, I took a photo so you can see it. Love the distribution of the pleats AND the fact that it has pockets.
